Why Blame Homeless?

Why blame homeless?

Why use your money and your cash?
for a useless inaugural bash.
The wealthy just make bad choices
paying no attention to those in dire need.
Christine Fuller and her family
can't even afford a house in a downtown city
Fuller now has a job
trying to improve her family's way of living
Now her family is getting better
trying to forget the past and hope for a better future.

"Pass it On"

In the post from Mrs. Mortiz, I agree that we should give more than recieve. Making other families happy that don't have a lot over the holidays is more important than how much stuff we get or how much money you have. I think that no family should have to go through this. The holidays are a special time for families and they need to be spent on not worrying what you don't have but what you have.

What Ashley Wrote......

Ashley Stenger wrote...
As a warrior
© By David Kweun

I am a warrior who holds the key to my path
For it is I to choose left or right
I can clear the hindrances and obstacles
With the right belief and strength
For such warrior, there is no fear, and no holding back. I know as a warrior, I do not give up, but go to the path I chose. Right or wrong. For I have a purpose.
For that reason I live.
Battles I face each day of my life.
I have more losses than wins
But as a warrior in life I know that
The only way to success and salvation
Is failure. For I now know, to beat the enemy. I must endure and be in defeat
As a warrior, there is no success at all times. For at defeat of my enemies I then hold advantage. I have suffered, and endured defeat. For this time I will not make the same mistakes, and stand back up against them all. As a warrior I desire more to fail. So I'll be able to see my wrong and learn tactics to defeat my enemies. For I know failure is not the end, but delineates the area I have lacked in my battles. For I am a true warrior!

I like this poem that Ashley put in her blog because it says that we have our different reasons to live each day like it was our last and that each day is like a battle because you might have a fight with your friend or you might have a day when everything goes great. This in a way, is like everybody's day because we all have our ups and downs. This is life..

War

In the quote, "You'll pretend you were men instead of babies, and you'll be played in the movies by Frank Sinatra and John Wayne or some of those other glamorous, war-loving, dirty old men. And war will look just wonderful, so we'll have a lot more of them. And they'll be fought by babies like the babies upstairs" by Mary O'Hare, I disagree with this quote because I think war movies show how bad they are and also shows how many people are injured or killed in them.

Hockey

One of my favorite sports is Ice Hockey. I have been only playing for a year, but I still enjoy playing it everyday. I play on a team with about 10 or 11 other guys. I am the only girl on the team, but I still have fun. We play teams around the Buffalo and Erie,PA areas. I am not sure what position I play but all I know is that it is not goalie...haha. I got into hockey about two years ago and I found it so interesting, that I looked up youth hockey to see if I could play. While looking, I did indeed find a youth hockey association in Fredonia,NY.

"Dreams" by Langston Hughes
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

This poem is saying that you should hold on to your dreams because your dreams are a part of you and they make up some of your future. I picked this poem because I thought that it related to me because I am one who likes to hang on to their dreams and maybe use them in the near future.

"for all they're worth into the darkness we're headed for."-David Bottoms

In the poem "Shooting Rats at the Bibb County Dump", David Bottoms is basically saying that a bunch of guys are getting drunk and shooting rats. The theme for this poem is actions speak louder than words. I thought this poem was very different from any other poem I have read. It didn't sound very interesting when I first started reading it, but after reading through it a couple of times, I started to enjoy it. I mainly like poems that are happy, not poems that talk about disgusting little rats.
